Hi, I’m Mark Petro. I was born and raised here in Birmingham, Alabama. I am the youngest of five children. Four boys and one girl. I’m not sure how my mother did it, but she is a saint! I have represented injured victims here in Birmingham and across the state of Alabama and the entire country for more than 28 years. I graduated from the University of Alabama in 1986 and from Cumberland School of Law in 1989. Throughout my career, I have represented over 1000 individuals seriously injured as a result of automobile wrecks, truck wrecks, motorcycle wrecks, on the job injuries, worker’s compensation claims, slip and fall injuries, medical negligence, nursing home negligence, defective products and medications. I have built a reputation for being the go-to guy to get claims handled in an efficient manner, so you can get what you deserve sooner rather than later.
During my spare time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing golf, reading, watching Alabama football and basketball games, and teaching 7th Grade Sunday School. I am a son, brother, uncle, husband, and the father of two beautiful daughters, Carlee and Allee, who I adore. I am also the author of the book, THE TRUTH ABOUT PERSONAL INJURY IN ALABAMA: SECRETS INSURANCE COMPANIES DON’T WANT YOU TO KNOW. Request your FREE copy! With this book, it is my desire to equip you with the information you need to help you understand the process of a personal injury claim from the time of injury all the way through the time the claim is resolved. I have found that providing relevant information to people who contact my office provides them with the knowledge they need to overcome the worry and stress that comes about after an injury.
Since 1996, I have received the highest possible ranking for a practicing attorney, an “AV” rating by Martindale Hubbell. This is something I am proud of because this rating is based on the opinions of lawyers I have worked against and Judges in whose courtrooms I have had cases. The rating takes into consideration the standard of professional ability in the areas I practice, my expertise, nature of practice, and qualifications relevant to the practice of law. It signifies that I have reached the heights of professional excellence and am recognized for the highest level of skill and integrity.
Jurisdictions I’m Admitted to Practice include:
- All Alabama State and Federal Courts
- United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit
- United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois
- United States District Court for the Middle District of PA
- United States District Court for the Western District of PA
- United States District Court for the Western District of North Carolina
